| Artists love painting in Villa Le Barone! Guaranteed
beauty! |
 |
|
Villa Le Barone has hosted 15 painters from Georgia (US)
brought by their teacher, Robin Miltner
The best is to let one of the participants, Patsy Lewis Gentry, reflect on
her experience at www.villa-lebarone.com:
“As I recall, the day began as a brisk cool morning with a majestic blue
sky overhead... Picking up my journal, I inhaled the purity of the air, gazed at
the clean picturesque countryside of Tuscany and began to reflect...”
For twelve days, the magic of Italy touched the hearts and souls of
Sautee Nacoochee artisans working with Robin Miltner. Robin had left no stone
unturned in her quest to introduce her charges to Chianti's regional beauty,
lifestyle and serenity.
“Once arriving at the exquisite La Barone Villa we never had to worry
about anything. From delicious gourmet meals, tea by the pool, ironed sheets to
curl up upon at night to adventures to increase our artistic knowledge, life
couldn't have been any better.
A collection of sight, sounds and smells of Tuscany was the menu for this
morning in April. Off in the distance a Morning Dove coos his mournful song
while menageries of birds chirp endlessly around me. A white butterfly or two
floats among the ancient blue flowering Rosemary bushes along the hedgerows
before me while scores of pigeons soar or perch on the colourful Spanish tile
roofs of the Abby on the hill.
Everything is clean, perfectly manicured and litter free. The sun beats
down on my head. I have to remove my vest. This warm spring day soothes my soul
while the refreshing breezes cleanse my spirit.
'How can one place be so filled with magical artistic venues?' I ask
myself. 'Colours so vibrant, skies so blue and life so serene in Tuscany?' I want
to stay in this moment forever... I turn my head around. All of my peers are
painting lost in this precious gift of a lifetime. Such was the life in Tuscany
for Robin Miltner's group of artisans from the Sautee Nacoochee School”.

the Medici Florence and the Ancient Low countries between 1430 and 1450.

| “Every aspect of our stay with you, 18-21 April, was delightful! The
villa, gardens, and views were glorious, your hospitality warm and friendly, and
the cuisine superb. I'm a former food columnist and couldn't resist buying your
cookbook! At dinner, on Sunday, 20 April, the dessert called 'Nona's Pudding'
was especially delicious. A search of my Italian cookbooks has turned up nothing
like it, but in my memory, the taste lingers...”. Betty B, Baton Rouge, LA
