Villa Le Barone is a splendid Tuscan Villa located in the Chianti Classico wine territory near Panzano and Greve in Chianti, half way between Florence and Siena. For many years, the villa belonged to the della Robbia family of Florentine sculptors and the orginators of glazed terracotta bas-reliefs. It was restored after the First World War by the Della Robbia's heirs and has since been converted into a small luxury hotel. Great care has been taken to retain the character of a private house with cheerful bedrooms and sitting rooms, antique furniture, paintings, books and family heirlooms. The extensive villa estate provides a swimming pool, tennis court and terraces among large rose gardens, with panoramic views over the surrounding olive groves and vineyards, with the Chianti hills in the distance. The former winery now houses the restaurant where guests may enjoy Tuscan food and famous local Chianti wines. |
